Time to Knuckle Down

Well! Where to begin? I cannot believe it's been a whole year since I was asked by Monica at the prison if I'd like to do a 30 minute talk in April 2025!
For twelve months I've pretty much devoted all of my spare time to it, not only thrashing out the verbal stuff but the boards and video work too. I loved it! And it went well on the night, with far more people attending than I'd dreamed of. It's a shame that a few contacts who said that of course they'd attend, didn't, including one who told me three weeks in advance that she was going to be ill. Funny isn't it? If it's not your 'thing' then don't string people along, it's just not fair. Be honest. Only one lady walked out, just after I'd played the Children of HMP Shepton Mallet, and I can only presume it hit a bit close to home, or that she was repelled. I shall never know.
If anyone reading this happened to be with me in the Mess that night, then I want to thank you copiously; I was so nervous but I think it turned out okay. I keep remembering vital bits I left out, but I suppose that's bound to happen. And thanks to Michele, the 'Vance to my Donald' for being my wingman and presser of the buttons!
During the talk I mentioned the possibility that increased footfall and decreased energy seems to massively effect the EVPs recorded - and I can confirm that this is for me at least, true. Since plotting the presentation my average per visit dropped from a healthy 35ph to a lowly and hideous 9! Now, having got the talk done and dusted, my visit on the 23rd April yielded a fantastic 29ph. See? If the mind is diverted, it seems that the avenues of communications (from 'the blueprint?) are significantly depleted.
Now that I can relax again, I have now got the time to dedicate spare time to my studies, and to try to make sense of the data that is still pouring in. But I won't bore you with that now.
Time will also be spent prepping for a probable exhibition space at the prison! I was so excited to be asked, and it's thanks (if it happens) to Jeremy, one of the tour guides, for putting me forward saying that the work I put into the presentation and display boards should be recognised. I don't like blowing my own trumpet, but I really did put a lot of time effort and a good wad of money into it all, so thank you Jezza!!
So, if anyone reading this was there on the 23rd and would fancy attending an EVP workshop, this is something I've also put forward to the prison. Watch this space - this could be exciting stuff! Also, email if interested! annomalie@yahoo.com
For now, I must dash. I've walked 80 miles this week for charity and my feet feel bits of beaten steaks.
Take care,
Ann.
