EVP Categories: Examples by Type
I get asked a lot what is said in EVP captures. Have I received any direct communications, have any historically verifiable names come through, are they always in English, are they human, do I get random words, angry people, children.... ?
Yes to all! Obviously I can't put ALL of my captures onto this site as I have over 5000 for Shepton prison alone, never mind the other locations. But for the purpose of this page, I'll attempt to get down examples of each sort of EVP capture that I've been lucky enough to receive. So plug in those headphones, and listen away...

MUSIC: HMP Shepton Mallet, was apparently used for music lessons latterly, I didn't know this at the time. Solo, A Wing. Recorder music.
FULL NAMES: Quite rare to get both, but I did here. The Ancient Ram Inn, with 3 ladies who were upstairs. . "Chris Talbot". Male.
HISTORICALLY VERIFIABLE NAMES:
HMP Shepton Mallet, solo, governor's office. "Jack Harvey". 1826 the chief turnkey was John Harvey.
RECOGNITION: Very common to have my name mentioned, to be welcomed back or told to go away! This was at Athelhampton House in Dorset, where I'd never been before. I was down the priest hole., solo "Hey Ann!". Male
MULTIPLE ENTITIES: Every so often it's as if I've happened upon several spirits interacting. Here we have 2 in the priest hole at Athelhampton House. I was solo. "----" "SAVE US!" Both male.

INTELLIGENT/ANSWERING QUESTIONS/PASSING ON INFO': HMP Shepton Mallet. B2,16 where I'd received a clear angry child's voice saying, "Punch your head!". Next time I asked who it was. A man said "Sam". So on this occasion, I asked specifically for SAM. A gent' replies, "Wants to know if Sam's here". Solo, male.

SPEAKING OVER ME/US: HMP Shepton Mallet, 1610 subterranean cells with Chris Prowse. Female says at the end just as Chris's voice is echoing, "Is he a virgin?" Entities frequently talk under or over me. It can be quite hard to decipher what is said in these instances.
HISTORICALLY VERIFIABLE FACTS: HMP Shepton Mallet, 1610 crawl cell. I asked where the skeleton of the horse is on site that was dumped. Solo. A man replies, "Underneath hangings". Turns out this is true - or at least it WAS under the hanging shed in the days BEFORE the red brick extension building was erected. Before then it was situated between C Wing and what is now Visits. The horse was dumped in a water calvert and concrete dumped on top, he or she was not removed which I find very sad and disturbing.
